Hello. This is Kayaba from the ApparelX Division.

This time, we have put together a summary of sustainable materials, which are of growing interest in Japan.

We hope this helps you find the textile you want.

Organic cotton has lower production efficiency than conventional cultivation methods, but by reducing the use of pesticides, it reduces health damage to producers and reduces environmental impact.

Typical examples include recycled wool made from recycled plastic bottles and recycled wool made from shredded wool products.

In addition, functional materials such as Solotex®, which use bio-derived raw materials as some of their raw materials, are attracting increasing attention.

recycled fiber

Although not a new technology, recycled fibers are also gaining attention as an environmentally friendly material.

In particular, Lyocell (TENCEL™) is a recycled fiber made from wood pulp. The cross-section of the fiber is circular, so it has high strength and is a fiber that does not shrink or lose strength when wet.

In addition, since the solvent is recovered and reused, no waste liquid is released into the environment, making it an ecological fiber that is kind to the earth.
