Hello everyone, it's Jane again!
Did you know that today is Chinese New Year?
Vietnam celebrates both New Years and Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday of the year. Just like the Japanese New Year, people return to their parents' homes and stay with their families during the Lunar New Year.
Lunar New Year is called "Tet" in Vietnamese.
During the Tet holiday, women often wear Vietnam's national dress, Ao Dai.
"Aodai" is often worn on holidays and weddings. Some high schools forced students to wear Ao dai as their uniform. Ao dai is about being body-hugging and showing off your curves without showing your bare skin. They are often made of silk or other fine textile.
Of course, in addition to the traditional Ao dai, brands are proliferating with fashionable and comfortable designs.

Besides Ao dai, another feature of Tet holiday is plants. Like a Western Christmas, it wouldn't be Tet without cherry blossoms from northern Vietnam and apricot flowers from southern Vietnam.
Both cherry blossoms in Vietnam are cherry blossoms, but they are quite different from cherry blossoms.

Last but not least, New Year's gift. This is very similar to Japan, but in Vietnam, not only are children receiving lucky money from adults, but older people are also receiving money from younger people.
What do you all think? Until the end Thank you for reading! I couldn't go back to Vietnam this year because of Covid-19. However, I hope that by introducing Vietnamese Lunar New Year, you will be able to understand more about Vietnamese culture.
