I visited AFF.

I went to AFF (Asia Fashion Fair), which was held over three days on September 25, 26, and 27.

AFF is an exhibition of Chinese textile and apparel products, with apparel, materials, accessories, and secondary materials on display.

This time, I went to look for textiles and secondary materials sold on ApparelX.

Booths for materials and secondary materials made up less than 10% of the whole event, but there were many different kinds of fabrics on display.

I had the impression that sourcing from overseas would be difficult, but I learned that transactions can be completed within Japan.

What’s more, they had plenty of samples, and since you can touch and choose most of the textiles, it gave both sides a positive impression of doing business.

Seeing products and fabrics made in Asia distributed in Japan through this exhibition made me feel that it is a place with many opportunities.

Until now, I had mainly seen textiles at general fabric stores, and mostly higher-priced kinds of textiles, but at this exhibition there were many items used for mass production, and I was able to see kinds of textiles I had not seen much before, which was very educational.

I felt that I need to build up a lot of knowledge about fabrics so that I can find good textiles and secondary materials at opportunities like this.
