Yesterday I went to PTJ, which is held twice a year. At the exhibition, I saw some new fabrics from partner suppliers this year, as well as some interesting fabrics from suppliers we have not yet worked with. I’d like to share them with you again. First, let me introduce the booths of the suppliers we already work with.

SHIBAYA, known for natural materials

SHIBAYA’s fabrics are mainly cotton and linen, and their texture feels natural and premium. They are very popular not only in Japan, but also in overseas markets.

At SHIBAYA’s booth this time, the ventile fabric area was very popular during the time I was there.

Since overseas customers often ask about ventile fabrics, I originally wanted to take good photos of the actual products while I had the chance, but there were too many people around, so I could only manage to take a few simple shots.

How popular is this fabric? OS2302 has been out of stock for a long time. Here’s my real-life example: it shipped on Thursday, and when I confirmed stock with SHIBAYA on Friday, there were still more than 1,000 meters available. But by the time I placed the order on Monday... it was out of stock... Seriously, if you’re interested in this fabric, be sure to order early and buy at the right time.

SENDA

SENDA, known for bag materials, introduced three eco-friendly fabrics this year. Among them was an uncommon eco-friendly nylon. The hand feel is no different from regular nylon, but with the added eco-friendly attribute, I like this fabric even more.

What’s impressive is that this fabric also uses Toray’s ECOLON. A lot of effort has gone into it from the fiber stage.

Japan Stretch

A fabric manufacturer said to produce Burberry trench coat fabric. The fabric is highly durable and highly water-resistant. It has a very firm, structured feel. You can see the photo below, which tests its water-repellent effect. Not a single drop seeped in.
