This is Cho from the ApparelX Trend Blog.

This time, we'll be introducing the 2026 trend textile from KOYAMA , a company based in Shizuoka Prefecture that develops textiles primarily using natural fibers.

*What is KOYAMA?

KOYAMA Co., Ltd. is a Japanese textile manufacturer headquartered in Shizuoka Prefecture, specializing in the planning and manufacturing of fabrics textile made from natural materials.

They are particularly known for their fabric offerings that utilize textile materials such as cotton, linen , hemp, and washi paper blends.

  • Wrinkled texture and processed look

This manufacturer is characterized by an atmosphere like that.

We received information from Mr. KOYAMA about the trending textile for 2026, so we'd like to share it with you!

*2026 Trend textile

HK1145BW

① Specifications: 108cm x 25m roll

② industry weight: 152gsm

③ Material: 100% Cotton

By using the difference in thread thickness, a sashiko-style pattern is designed.

This textile is characterized by the use of ink that gives it a unique, deep, and almost misty appearance.

This textile is created by washing the entire roll of material in a large machine similar to a washing machine, which gives the entire textile a random wrinkled texture, worn fading , and soft feel.

This textile seems best suited for a simple design,

Because the textile prioritizes aesthetics, its uneven appearance is both a characteristic and part of textile.

HK2986GW

① Specifications: 114cm x 25m roll

industry weight : 205gsm

③ Material: 100% Cotton

This cotton ripstop is thick due to the use of thick thread , features a distinctive grid-like weave pattern, and is dyed with pigments.

The washing process allows you to enjoy the changes that occur over time.

It features a distinctive vintage feel, with muted colors being the main focus.

It is recommended for use on items such as jackets and pants.

RN5054

① Specifications: 124/126cm x 25m roll

industry weight : 80gsm

③ Material: 100% Cotton

This textile is made by twisting two very thin thread together into one, then further cleaning the thread by burning them with gas, and increasing the number of twists to emphasize its dry texture.

By stuffing the textile into a cylindrical machine used for dyeing thread , bold wrinkles are created throughout the entire textile.

Because the textile is so thin that it is almost transparent, it can be used not only to create sheer items, but also to create designs with multiple layers of textile, adding a unique charm.

RN5061

① Specifications: 110cm x 25m roll

industry weight: 140gsm

③ Material: 75% linen, 25% Japanese paper

The warp threads are made of linen, and the weft threads are made of alternating strands of linen and washi (Japanese paper) thread.

Each textile has a dry texture and is lightweight with a slight transparency.

Even within a single roll, wrinkles may appear randomly, varying in size, quantity, and strength.

That very unevenness is the charm of this textile, creating a more natural and textured feel.

RN8025

① Specifications: 110cm x 25m roll

industry weight: 113gsm

③ Material: 54% linen , 36% cotton, 10% wool

This is a lightweight textile made with linen for the warp threads and cotton and yak (wool) for the weft threads.

Yak wool has a lustrous appearance, good moisture retention, and softness, making it a material that blends well with cotton and linen.

*What is a yak?

Yak is a high-quality natural fiber obtained from animals that live in cold regions, and is characterized by its soft texture and excellent heat retention.

Its natural sheen and unique, deep color tones are also part of its appeal.

This textile features a distinctive heathered texture that gives it a sense of depth and richness.

*Side note

Over the past six months or so, I've looked into the textile from Mr. KOYAMA that have been particularly popular with global brands.

RN8010 with Plat Air In processing,

GW7040 , which has been pigment coated on one-sided and then subjected to the original roll Wash Finish.

The RN4001 achieves an extremely soft texture with reduced pilling thanks to a special enzyme treatment.

These were among the popular choices.
