Hello. I’m Yamayoshi from the ApparelX division.
Over the past year or two, I feel that inquiries about stretch fabrics have been increasing.
Telework and changes in working styles.
Fabrics are now expected to offer functionality as well as appearance and hand feel.
In addition, as global awareness of sustainability has grown, people are starting to look at whether clothing materials are sustainable as well.
Rather than simply a fabric that is sustainable, we are introducing a fabric that also works as fashion.
This SUNWELL textile uses SOLOTEX® and ECOPET®, technologies from TEIJIN FRONTIER, and is a stretch fabric.
SOLOTEX® uses fibers with a spring-like structure to achieve a comfortable stretch without using polyurethane. ECOPET® is a textile made by recycling discarded PET bottles and reusing them as fibers.
There are various options that use only SOLOTEX® or only recycled polyester, but this textile combines both.
| Category | Product | Description | Thickness | Recycled Raw Material Content |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weather cloth | 52266 | It combines stretch and the firmness and resilience unique to weather cloth. Another point is that it uses eco-friendly materials. | Slightly thin | 70% |
| Twill | 52248 | Because it uses supple SOLOTEX® and 40MVS spun yarn ECOPET®, this is a slightly thin twill material with a dry cotton touch, light stretch, and good wash-and-wear performance. | Medium thickness | 70% |
| Taffeta | 41203 | This slightly thin stretch taffeta has a matte, clear surface that suits a wide range of everyday situations. | Thin | 55% |

For the other fabrics, the weather cloth has a high density and the twill is medium thickness, so there is almost no sheerness.
Also, the color variations for 52248 and 52266 do not include white, so please avoid them if you are choosing based on the presence of white.
It’s rare to find a fabric that combines stretch and sustainability, so please check them out.
