Hello.
I’m mammy from the ApparelX trend blog.
The fashion keyword to watch for 2025 SS is “balletcore.”
Today I’d like to introduce balletcore and some recommended materials.
In recent years, there has been an increase in proposals that celebrate diverse femininity through clothing, and this trend seems likely to continue in 2025.
Specifically, it includes sensual styles that incorporate lingerie-like items to emphasize the body’s lines and bare skin.It is a coined word combining “BALLET” and “CORE,” and refers to fashion inspired by ballerinas.
Its defining feature is incorporating items worn by ballerinas, such as tutus, lace, ribbons, and corsets, into outfits.
The footwear is styled in a girly way with leg warmers and pointe shoes.
Other key elements include frills, puff sleeves, pale colors, soft materials, and sparkling decorations and accessories.
・The catalyst was Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2023 women’s collection.

It’s a romantic style that feels feminine, with micro mini skirts and shorts, sheer lace materials, and leg warmers paired with ballet shoes.
In Miu Miu’s 2025 collection as well, updated looks featuring leg warmers on the feet were presented.
Inspired by innocent “childhood,” the wardrobe unfolds.

MILK’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection also featured a series focused on balletcore.

Layered tulle fabric on skirts, leg warmers laced up with satin ribbons at the feet, and frilly designs create a girly fashion that evokes a ballerina.
The color palette is also based on pale tones, giving an ethereal impression of a girl.
Here are some materials recommended for balletcore fashion.
Satin fabric

This satin fabric has an elegant sheen and a silk-like fullness. It is also stretchy and comes in a wide variety of colors.
Tulle

This soft tulle has an airy, gentle texture.
It also comes in a wide range of colors, and layering tulle can create subtle variations in shade.
Chiffon

This softly draped, sheer chiffon Georgette is a perfect match for feminine balletcore looks.
This one uses 75d thread and offers an overwhelming 200 color variations.
You’re sure to find the one shade you’re looking for.

Recycled Polyester Double-Sided Satin Ribbon

When you think of ribbons used for ballet shoes and costume decoration, satin ribbon comes to mind.
Why not incorporate satin ribbon into balletcore fashion too?
This ribbon is double-sided satin, so it can be used without a front or back, even when tied in a bow.
It is made with recycled polyester, making it an eco-friendly ribbon as well.
This tape is recommended for lacing ribbons through corsets and similar items.
Just sewing this tape onto the fabric makes lacing easy.

How about a light organza ribbon for accessories and the like?
The Shiny Organza Ribbon combines just the right amount of sheen with transparency.
It also comes in eight sizes.
What did you think?
