What is Octa?
Octa textile is a polyester fabric that uses hollow fibers with a special structure developed by TEIJIN FRONTIER.
Ordinary polyester fibers have a round cross section, but Octa has eight protrusions arranged radially around the hollow thread, giving it a cross section resembling a gear or a piece of tofu. These eight protrusions are also the origin of the name "Octa ," which means "8" in Greek.
This unique structure allows air to be trapped within the fibers, making the fabric multifunctional, with excellent heat retention, sweat absorption, quick drying, and light weight.
textile made from Octa is often used in sportswear and outdoor wear as active insulation (cold weather clothing/dynamic thermal clothing worn during exercise), and is an innovative material with the ideal properties of being both light and warm.

Three features of Octa textile
Lightweight
Its greatest feature is its lightness. The hollow fiber structure makes the fiber itself extremely light, approximately 50% lighter than polyester fibers of the same type.
The lightweight textile has a two-layer structure with a fuzzy surface that traps air and a highly breathable mesh surface, and the quilt batting and lining are integrated into one piece, so no lining is required.It is attractive because it is easy to move around in and puts less strain on the body even when worn for long periods of time.
Thermal insulation
The structure of the fabric allows it to trap a lot of air inside, so it provides excellent heat retention even with a small amount of material.

Unlike other octa textile, this type does not have a fuzzy back.
The Octa Waltz thread scatters light in a random manner, allowing the textile to minimize the luster that is typical of synthetic fibers.
