Perhaps the most representative sustainable materials today are those made with recycled materials.
Examples include materials made by reusing plastic bottles and recycled wool made by breaking down wool products into small pieces and reusing them.
Functional materials such as SOLOTEX® are also attracting attention, as some of their raw materials are bio-based.

This product group includes items that use technologies with low environmental impact in fabric processing such as dyeing, as well as items in which some petroleum-derived raw materials have been replaced with bio-based raw materials.

Although not a new technology, regenerated fibers are also gaining attention as environmentally friendly materials.
In particular, lyocell (Tencel™) is a regenerated fiber made from wood pulp. Because the fiber cross-section is round, it has high strength and suffers little shrinkage or loss of strength when wet.
It is also an ecological fiber that is gentle on the planet, because the solvent is recovered and reused, so wastewater is not released into the environment.
