Today, as the title says, I’ll introduce 3-layer textile.
It is a functional material made by laminating three layers: the outer fabric, an intermediate layer (special material such as a film), and the lining.
Thanks to the special film in the middle layer, the textile has waterproof performance while also maintaining breathability, making it harder for clothing to get stuffy. It is a material that combines the seemingly contradictory functions of keeping water out while reducing moisture buildup.
It is mainly used for outdoor wear, but due to its functionality, it also seems to be increasingly used for town wear.
There are also 2-layer and 2.5-layer types, but while fewer layers make them lighter, the exposed special film can be more prone to aging deterioration showing through on the back side of the textile, which can lead to discomfort when worn.
* This is a special textile, and needle holes generally remain, so the factories that can sew it are limited. At the product planning stage, it is necessary to confirm with the sewing factory and secure a factory that can sew it.
