Enamel cufflinks are Codis Maya's speciality. The scroll cuffs are designed based on classic French Rococo motifs. The enamel surface features a silvery curved pattern incorporating the letters "single thread" and "C", creating an asymmetrical design. Colored enamel glass crystals are crushed and mixed with water to form a paste. This is then precisely applied to the mesh of the design before being fired at 800 degrees. It is then hand polished to create a beautifully smooth and even surface. This stage of the process is repeated three times and constitutes just 1/12 of the creation of these handcrafted cufflinks. Because this requires advanced skills, it is made by British craftsmen who specialize in high-precision parts such as jewellery and precision machine parts.
The precious stones sold at CODIS MAYA are ethically sourced in accordance with the International Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO).
