〜 Italy's world's largest hanger manufacturer 〜
On May 5, 1961, the four Mainetti brothers, Romeo, Mario, Gianni, and Luigi, founded Fratelli Mainetti, and opened a small workshop in San Quirico, Tuscany, Italy. Their innovative idea of mass-producing plastic hangers instead of wooden ones, which were heavy, prone to breaking, and costly and time-consuming to make, along with their quality, quickly earned a reputation. In postwar Italy, where fashion brands were being founded one after another, it did not take long before they began supplying hangers to various global brands and manufacturers. Today, having marked its 60th anniversary in 2021, Mainetti has become the world’s largest hanger manufacturer, with planning and production operations at 90 locations in 50 countries around the world, including its factory in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy.
