Premium Pointed Bow Tie Made With Silk Facing Fabric, Gray

This sword-point bow tie is made with a luxury silk fabric used for the collars of formal men’s dress such as tailcoats and tuxedos.

The facing fabric used is woven at a small textile workshop in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan’s leading silk fabric-producing regions. Fujiyoshida is a historic production area with roots dating back to the Heian period. This area, where spring water from Mt. Fuji emerges, has the clean water essential for good dyeing.
In the weaving process, Yamamoto’s blended facing fabric uses as many as 13,000 warp threads in a width of just 47 cm, and the weft uses 120-denier yarns doubled and twisted into an astonishingly thick 240-denier thread.
By weaving slowly on shuttle looms, the fabric retains air, creating a three-dimensional texture, and skilled craftsmen constantly inspect it for any damage. Dyeing, yarn spinning, warping, and weaving are all carried out by artisans under strict quality control, for our customers and to make the best possible product.
