This is a carefully crafted product that faithfully reproduces the manufacturing methods and materials of the time, focusing on zippers from the 1930s to 1950s.
Using non-ferrous metals such as aluminum (AL), brass (G), and nickel silver (N) for the element material, it recreates the zippers of that era.
The press-formed elements have a substantial feel, and because they are unplated, they have a distinctive look that lets you enjoy the natural aging of the material as it is.

About WALDES®
It is a historic zipper brand that actually existed in America in the 1930s.
We obtained the trademark rights for this brand, which had faded from use over time and become free to use, and revived it as a vintage zipper.

1. It faithfully reproduces the manufacturing methods and standards of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
① The tape is woven on traditional power looms using 100% cotton yarn. The weft is packed tightly to create a strong tape.
② The cord is separately twisted from 100% cotton yarn and carefully sewn onto the tape.
③ The slider, open end hardware, and stop hardware recreate the shapes and feel of the time.

2. Features of WALDES Zipper
① No plating is applied to the elements. As a result, the zipper ages together with leather and denim.
This creates a distinctive vintage feel found nowhere else.
② There are many specification options for sliders, open end hardware, stop hardware, and more, allowing you to choose components without compromise to suit your product.
③ Cotton in particular has a unique texture and material feel, making it an environmentally friendly product.
④ The texture and feel of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s are well suited to modern vintage fashion.
⑤ We accommodate small quantities, many varieties, and short lead times.
⑥ Samples can be produced quickly from as little as one piece, and for mass production as well, we will consult with the customer and respond with short lead times.
⑧ We can also accommodate custom-colored cotton tape (from 60 m), original pull tabs, engraving, and more.

3. Important notes on the product
① Compared with polyester, cotton tape is inferior in friction resistance, tensile strength, and colorfastness. Depending on the environment and conditions, the product dimensions may shrink.
② Cotton tape has a colorfastness rating of grade 3 or lower. Please note that discoloration and fading may occur due to processing, washing, friction, sweat, and light.
③ Cotton tape may vary slightly in color depending on the dye lot.
④ Due to the shape of the elements, metal zippers may have different slider smoothness at the top and bottom, such as for two-way open-end and W specifications.
⑤ AG and BK specifications for the elements are not plated, but have undergone special chemical processing. During sewing, the color of the elements may transfer to the fabric. The surface may also change due to friction or post-processing.
