For sample orders of 10 pieces or fewer, it takes about 3 weeks; please contact us regarding mass production.
This is a carefully crafted product that faithfully reproduces the methods and materials of the era, focusing on zippers from the 1930s to 1950s. Using an extremely old manufacturing method in zipper history, it employs non-ferrous metals such as aluminum (AL), brass (G), and nickel silver (N) for the element material. The press-formed elements have a substantial feel, and since they are not plated, they offer a unique look that lets you enjoy the natural aging of the material itself. This version uses a polyester tape, which is practical and characterized by its vivid color.

About WALDES® It is a historic zipper brand that actually existed in America in the 1930s. By obtaining the trademark rights to this brand, which had faded over time and become free to use, it was revived as a vintage zipper.
1. Faithfully reproduces the manufacturing methods and standards of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. ③ The slider, open parts, and stopper parts recreate the shapes and atmosphere of the time.
2. Features of WALDES Zipper ① No plating is applied to the elements. As a result, the zipper changes over time along with leather and denim. This creates a distinctive vintage feel not found in other brands. ② There are many specification options for the slider, open parts, stopper parts, and more, allowing you to choose accessories without compromise to suit the product. ③ In particular, cotton has a unique texture and material feel, making it an environmentally friendly product. ④ The material feel of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s is suitable for modern vintage fashion. ⑤ We accommodate small quantities, a wide variety of items, and short lead times. ⑥ Samples can be produced quickly from as little as one piece, and for full production as well, we respond with short lead times after consultation with the customer. 3. Product notes ④ Due to the shape of the elements, metal zippers may have different slider operation between the upper and lower ends, such as two-way open or W specifications. ⑤ The AG and BK specifications for the elements are not plated; they are specially treated with chemicals. During sewing, the color of the elements may transfer to the textile. In addition, the surface may change due to friction or post-processing. * Zippers come in various types depending on their application. Please choose an appropriate type by considering the required strength and durability for the item to be used. Please understand that we cannot accept any responsibility for defects caused by post-processing performed by the customer, and use the product accordingly. Also, when post-processing is performed, the zipper may change or be affected depending on the method of processing, chemicals, dyes, and environment. Please be sure to test before use.
Is it possible to change the top stop of the WALDES zipper to a box stop?
It is possible. When placing your order, please write in the remarks field which zipper you would like to have the top stop changed to a U-shaped stop. An additional charge will apply due to the change. We will inform you separately of the payment for the price difference.
Is it possible to purchase only the slider for WALDES zippers?
You can purchase them only if they are to be attached to WALDES zippers purchased from us. Please contact us via the inquiry page.
What color is the slider on the nickel silver metal zipper?
It is nickel-colored. Nickel silver has a slight yellow tint like a 500-yen coin, but nickel color is a whitish, bright silver color.
Can the slider color be changed?
Yes, it is possible. As a general rule, if nothing is specified, metal zippers come with sliders in the same color as the element, and other zippers come with sliders in the same color as the tape color. (Sliders with an attached pull tab are available in metal color only.) The slider color shown on the product page is for reference, so the color will vary depending on the zipper you order. If you would like to change the slider color, please note it in the order memo.
Which slider should I choose if I want to attach a pull tab later?
Please choose a CA, ZA, ZF, or other slider that can be fitted with a pull tab afterward. The difference between CA and ZA/ZF is whether a pull tab can be attached from the base or not. Pull tabs are sold by various manufacturers, but the specifications determine whether they can be attached to CA or ZA, so please check carefully. The color options for retrofit sliders are limited to metal colors only.
Is it possible to order only the slider for a YKK zipper?
Basically, we are unable to accept orders for sliders only, but it is possible to arrange them if they are ordered together with a chain zipper or used for a zipper previously purchased from APPARELX. In that case, please contact us via the contact form on the Support Page with the type and size of the YKK zipper you purchased, the slider color, the slider product number, and the quantity. We will reply after confirmation.
I would like to order a two way separator zipper with different sliders on the top and bottom. How should I do that?
If you note the desired upper and lower sliders in the zipper memo field when placing your order, we will change them to the sliders you want and arrange the order accordingly.
Is it possible to obtain the comprehensive zipper catalog "FASTENING Senka"?
The booklet-type FASTENING SENKA has now been discontinued. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it can be downloaded from YKK's website, so please check there. https://www.ykkfastening.com/japan/catalog/
How should I choose between sliders with locks and without locks?
You can determine this from the second letter of the slider product number. “A” = automatic lock (the slider locks automatically when you let go of the pull tab, and unlocks when you pull the pull tab) “F” = non-lock (a slider with no locking function, regardless of the position of the pull tab on the body) “N” = notch lock (a notch is attached to the shoulder of the body, and it locks when opened by bringing the chain against the shoulder) “W” = reversible (pull tabs are attached to the front and back, so it can be opened from either side) “U” = reversible (an automatic slider with one pull tab that can move along the rotating rail and can be opened and closed from either the front or back.)
I want to place an order for a color or slider that is not listed on the product page. What should I do?
If you enter your preferred color and slider in the zipper memo field when placing your order, we will make the change and arrange it for you.
I selected Lead Time Priority (custom production), but what does custom length processing from longer stock mean?
As for zipper inventory, products other than 2CHC concealed zippers are not stocked in the exact length you specify. For made-to-order production, we can process a longer zipper to make it, which shortens the delivery time but increases the unit price. If you want it processed from longer stock and need it right away, please select "Delivery priority (higher unit price)."
The article below is about coil zippers, but it also explains zipper inventory. https://apparelx-news.jp/apparel-material/zipper/coil-fastener
