The satin-faced silk used is woven at a small textile workshop in Fuji Yoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading silk fabric production areas. Fuji Yoshida is a historic production region whose history began in the Heian period. This area, where spring water from Mt. Fuji flows, has the clean water essential for good dyeing. By weaving slowly on shuttle looms, the fabric traps air and gains dimensional depth, and skilled craftsmen constantly inspect it for any flaws. Dyeing, silk reeling, warp preparation, and weaving are each carried out by craftsmen under strict quality control, creating good products for our customers.
