The material has a vintage feel and is made from linen and Ramie.
Both the warp and weft threads are made from American cotton and European cotton, spun in Japan, woven in Niigata, and dyed using KINANADAKI.
We use an old-fashioned rapier loom from a Niigata weaver, and by changing the rotation speed from high to low, the thread bends more, resulting in a soft, fluffy textile.
[KINANADAKI]
Kiryu, located in the eastern end of Gunma Prefecture in the northern Kanto Plain, on the border with Tochigi Prefecture, is the home of seven textile techniques and traditional crafts.
We were founded in this place over 100 years ago, dedicated to dyeing.
Initially, we were involved in the final processes of de-starching and steaming kimono obi fabric, while coexisting and prospering with the good old days and making use of our knowledge and techniques of dyeing and color.
KINANADAKI was born from a dyeing method that conveys the skills, techniques, passion and passion of artisans that have been passed down from generation to generation.
